Awamette, Spoon Doughnuts
Ingredients:
2 md Potatoes,
1/2 pk Yeast cake,
2 c Flour,
Lukewarm Water,
SYRUP:
1 c Water,
1 ea Lemon juiced,
1 c Sugar,
Orange-blossom water.
ENJOY
24 Doughnuts.
Method:
Peel potatoes, cube and boil.
Remove from water and mash.
Add flour, yeast and water.
Knead, leaving mixture soft.
Set until dough rises, about 1 hour.
Pick up small portions of dough with spoon and drop in skillet of hot oil until browned.
Remove and dip in cold syrup.
Syrup:
combine water, sugar, lemon juice and optional orange-blossom water.
Bring to a boil, allow to cool, chill in refrigerator.
