Mjadara & Burghul, Lentils & Cracked Wheat
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup lentils rinsed
  • 3/4 cup burghul
  • 3 - 3 1/2 cup water
  • 3 onions chopped
  • 1/4 tsp 7 spices
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Method:
Put the lentils and water in a deep pan, boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a seperate pan and fry the onions till dark brown. Simmer for 5 minutes then add the burghul, cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes.
Take off the heat and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
Served hot or cold with salad or yogurt
